The duiker (Cephalophinae) is one of the ‘Tiny Ten Antelopes of Southern Africa’. These are small, forest-dwelling antelopes that are highly adaptable to changing environmental conditions. They are rarely seen in the wild as they are mainly nocturnal and shy. Their diet consists of grasses, leaves, fruits, tubers and flowers. They are very aggressive towards other members of their species. Both males and females have horns.
