Arrow Rests

Clean release for precise arrow flight

The arrow rest is one of the most helpful components for archery with both compound bows and recurve bows as well as with bare bows. Arrow rests in combination with Button and clicker are an influential element for precise and clean arrow flight and trajectory.

A damaged arrow rest should be replaced immediately. If the arrow is shot from a defective arrow rest, the arrow flight is unpredictable. The archer can then only roughly determine the direction. Shooting from a defective arrow rest can even be dangerous under certain circumstances. As the rests can suddenly break during training or even at a tournament, archers should always carry a replacement with them.

At archery-shop.co.uk, we always have the perfect arrow rests for the centre section of every compound, recurve or blank bow in stock for you. We only rely on well-known manufacturers such as ALLEN, AAE CAVALIER, SF Archery, FIVICS, BEITER, NAP, HOYT, BOWTECH, TRUGLO, CARTEL, DECUT, BOOSTER, TROPHY RIDGE, TROPHY TAKER, SPOT-HOGG and many more. Take a look around our online shop and find your new arrow rest or a replacement rest for your next tournament quickly and easily.

Arrow rests - mounting on the bow

Arrow rests can be mounted on all modern sports bows such as compound bows, recurve bows and bare bows. With a classic longbow and traditional recurves, however, you shoot on the shelf, i.e. directly from the shooting window without an arrow rest. Depending on the design of the rest and the centre section of the bow, it must be attached to the sports bow either by gluing or screwing.

Arrow rests are mounted below the Button on the centre section of the bow. They must be adjusted so that the arrows touch the Button completely. At this point, the old, defective rest must first be removed. A little alcohol can be used to ensure that no adhesive residue remains. The new arrow rest should be fitted in the same place, at the lowest point of the grip. As the sight setting always changes slightly when the arrow rest is replaced, it should then be readjusted correctly.

Types and accessories for arrow rests

Arrow rests are available in a wide variety of designs and types. The different types have descriptive names such as Quick Shot, Kill Shot, Flipper or Quicktune. Down Draft, Drop-Away, Fall-Away or Whisker Biscuit, named after the round cake shape with one piece missing, have also proved their worth. They are not only produced to suit the respective shooting style for archery with compound bow, recurve bow and blank bow and for use with carbon arrows, aluminium arrows and even wooden arrows. They also differ in their material, often metal or plastic, and in the way they are mounted - there are arrow rests for screwing and for gluing.

You can also choose between arrow rests specifically for finger shooters or for shooters who use a release. Arrow rests are usually offered as left-handed or right-handed models. However, there are also uni rests that are equally suitable for right-handed and left-handed shooters, such as the NAP Quiktune 800, and only need to be modified accordingly. It is also important that the arrow rest does not come into contact with the arrow's fletching. In addition, high-quality models offer the option of fine adjustment, for example by adjusting the spring tension.

At archery-shop.co.uk, you can find the perfect arrow rest, Button and clicker for your bow. We also have spare parts for arrow rests such as replacement screws, Button pins, arrow rest fingers, arrow holders and rest arms.

You can also discover other attachments, stabilisers and a wide range of archery accessories for bows of all kinds and crossbows in our online shop. Whether sights, clickers, buttons or nocking points, limbs, arm guards or arrow shafts - at archery-shop.co.uk you are guaranteed to find the right components and accessories for your bow to complete your archery equipment.

An arrow rest is a small component that you attach to your recurve bow, compound bow or blank bow. The arrow is then shot over it. It enables a clean launch and arrow flight. With a longbow or traditional recurve bow, you shoot directly over the shelf or the back of your hand.

Compound bows come with arrow rests that can be glued or screwed on and numerous different variants, such as a launcher, whisker biscuit, drop-away or fall-away arrow rest. Launchers are the most common. With them, the arrow is guided over a spring-loaded plate. The fall-away arrow rest falls out of the way when shot. The whisker-biscuit arrow rests are round and fitted with small ‘brushes’ through which the arrow is guided. Arrow rests for Compound bows also differ from arrow rests for recurve bows because Compound archers release with a release and not their fingers.

There are adhesive arrow rests for longbows and recurve bows, often made of felt, leather or animal hair. This is attached to the shelf, the shooting window. They provide protection for the bow and promote a reproducible shot.

Some arrow rests also need a spare part from time to time, such as a replacement brush, screw or spring.
