SPIGARELLI Arrow Fletcher #1 - Fletching Device
Precisely working and robust metal construction with straight feather clamp for easy feathering of arrows.
The clamp is 6 inch long and is held to the device by a magnet. The magnet itself is adjustable and allows the springs to be glued in an oblique position. The arrow for feathering lies diagonally in the device.
Suitable for 3-fold, 4-fold or 5-fold feathering.

Customers tested various fletching devices for us - here is a comparison test between the BOHNING Big Jig and the SPIGARELLI Arrow Fletcher #1:
Bohning Big Jig | Spigarelli Arrow Fletcher #1 | |
Material: | plastic | metal |
Length of feathers to be processed: | max. 4 inches | max. 6 inches |
Features: | 2 different inserts for fletching 1° to the right or 3° right-wound feathers or vanes. | 1 feather clamp with adjusting screw for feathering, also for an inclined position of the feathers. |
Suitable for 3,4 and 5 fold fletching. | Suitable for 3,4 and 5-fold fletching. |
Both devices were used simultaneously during the test.
The arrow is inserted with the nock into one of the two devices. Whereas with the Bohning device the feather is attached to one of the two different inserts, with the Spigarelli fletching device the feather or vane must be inserted into a retaining clip. With both test devices, the feather is coated with adhesive and glued to the arrow in the desired position.
With the Spigarelli device, the nib, which has already been coated with adhesive, has to be attached to the magnet provided with the clip, which I find somewhat laborious and awkward - without slipping. With the Bohning Big Jig it is much easier. The coated spring is inserted into the insert, then the insert is attached to the Bohning device and that's it. After the adhesive has soaked in, the insert is lifted up and the nib is firmly glued to the arrow. After turning the setting wheel, all three feathers can be attached effortlessly and neatly one after the other.
The Spigarelli fletching device is a little more complicated here. The arrow is inserted into the recess provided and the nock is also inserted into the adjustment wheel. As already mentioned at the beginning, it is not easy to attach the feather to the arrow when it is coated with glue. It is also not easy to handle the clip, which has to be attached to the magnet, because it keeps slipping. The adjustment wheel with the attached notch for the nock is more cumbersome to turn than the one on the Bohning Big Jig fletching device. It is also smaller on the Spigarelli Arrow Fletcher #1.
I clearly prefer the Bohning Big Jig fletching device. It is easier to handle and quicker to process feathers or vanes, which can also be attached very precisely to the arrow.
