General:
Weights are attached to the blank bow to achieve a certain stabilisation when firing. The weight ensures that the bow does not tilt when the shot is released, but remains in a stable, upright position. In contrast to the Olympic recurve bow, the centre of gravity of a blank bow is behind the pressure point of the hand, so that these bows tend to tip backwards without the use of additional weights.
Draw length:
The draw length is the distance between the nock of the arrow and the point at which the string is pulled taut. The draw length is measured from the point at which the string is pulled taut to the point at which the string is released. The arrow is released by the archer. The rule is that the relaxed blank bow, including the attached additional weights, can still be pushed through a ring with a diameter of 12.2 cm. The weights must not be angled, but must be perpendicular to the bow. No vibration dampers made of rubber or soft plastic may be attached to the weight.
