A riding bow, also known as a Mongolian bow or Asian riding bow, is a special type of bow traditionally used by horsemen in Asia and Hungary. This is also where the so-called composite bows were developed, which also include horse bows. Typical of this type of bow are the stiff limbs, known as siyas in Arabic, which act like levers. Thanks to this design, the Asian riding bows could be made shorter and are therefore particularly suitable for archery from horseback.
