Bows and arrows for children

"Practice makes perfect" - true to this common saying, more and more young archers are longing for the right bow and arrow for children. This positive development offers a welcome change from the increasing focus on smartphones and tablets among young people. Bows and arrows for children offer an interesting and exciting way to get physically active, improve concentration and have fun.

The perfect children's bow with BSW

These features and possibilities for young archers alone are reason enough for us to take a closer look at this topic. We would like to help you make the right choice of bow and arrow for children. It would be a shame to let children lose the joy of their new-found hobby of archery because of the wrong equipment.

Buying the right children's bow

BSW offers you an extensive and well-assorted range of children's bows and arrows for children. With us, even the smallest archers receive the best possible advice and the optimal accessories for the required use.

The growing interest in archery has now also reached the youngest among us. Young archers therefore want to do the same as adults and buy and shoot a real bow for children. But which children's bows are suitable for children to start with? We would like to get to the bottom of this.

Inexpensive children's bows for beginners

Children who are still undecided about getting into archery don't have to be equipped with the most expensive bows and accessories straight away. Our range of children's bows offers a large selection of affordable, high-quality models that can guarantee you and your little shooter the best possible introduction to archery without putting too much strain on your wallet.

In this case, we would like to recommend that you take a look at the following children's bows. These are the Kidsbow children's bow set with lots of accessories, the robust ROLAN Snake II and the popular EVANS Wind Fire. These bows impress with their robust construction, affordable price and features aimed specifically at children who are looking for the perfect start to archery.

Children's bows for archers with ambitions

Children who have already made a decision for themselves and want to pursue archery as a long-term hobby will of course also find bows that meet even the highest demands. These are children's bows that are in no way inferior to bows for adults. High-quality materials and flawless workmanship are a matter of course here.

Examples include the Drake Rufus, the BODNIK BOWS Sioux and the RAGIM Wildcat Plus Junior three-piece recurve bow. Of course, this is just a small preview of an otherwise extensive range of high-quality children's bows, which will be difficult to find.

From what age can children learn archery?

An approximate minimum age of ten years is usually given for the first attempts with a children's bow. In terms of their development, some children may be able to concentrate on archery and learn and imitate the movements at the age of eight. In any case, many bow-enthusiastic children intuitively have the use of bow and arrow in their blood, they shoot without thinking about it and feel as if they are riding through the prairie alongside the tribal chief. The BEIER Tjal children's bow is ideal for their very first attempts with a bow: With a 40 inch bow length and made from rattan, this model is an ideal companion for playful shooting before the real training begins.

Children's bows - before the first shot

Children and archery novices in particular must familiarize themselves with the most important regulations before entering the world of archery and observe the safety rules to avoid injury.

The most important rule:

Even if they are not affected by the Weapons Act, we do not treat bows and arrows like toys. That's why we never point them at other people, not as a joke, not out of anger and not out of boredom. No matter how sure you are that nothing will happen. What's more, the pointed arrows are not only dangerous when they are nocked. So we always use a bag or sheath for transportation and we don't run around with an arrow in our hand. Just like with cutlery: you only take it out of the kitchen to eat and then you put it away again. Really? When we point at people (which is usually quite rude), we would of course never do this with a bow or arrow! It's better to call people by name and not hold your bow and arrowheads in front of anyone's face.

The right children's bow for the first competition

Most children's bows and youth bows are recurve and long bows, which are available in different sizes and with different draw weights. One of the classics among them is the RAGIM Wildcat Kid. The wooden bow, which can be dismantled into 3 parts, has a fine wood lamination and fiberglass-reinforced limbs and is available in 48 inch bow lengths and with different draw weights depending on the age of the young archers.

The Bearpaw Sioux with a handy size of 54 inches (137 cm bow length) is a powerful longbow that could also be used for the first competitions. Children from the age of eleven or twelve can take part in archery tournaments, depending on the age for the youngest competition class. The Bärentöter recurve bow, for example, is ideal for the first successes at a young age. Made from ash wood, this youth bow has the curved limbs typical of recurve bows, which allow a higher degree of efficiency to be achieved.
