For gentle tensioning of the bow

If you love archery, you treat your equipment well and look after it regularly. Proper use also includes correct tensioning of the bow to prevent damage to the material and injuries. Cocking aids should be used to tension the string on the bow.

Tensioning cords are available in different designs, materials and from different manufacturers. Whether shoes, hats or straps, nylon or leather versions, they are all used in a similar way. Tension cords can be used to tension longbows, horse bows and recurve bows in a way that is gentle on the material and saves energy.

There are universal tensioning cords that can be used for both recurve and longbows, but there are also variants that are specially adapted to the type of bow. Which one you choose is unimportant, the important thing is to use it. The drawstring is an auxiliary tool and belongs in every archery kit. It saves space and weighs almost nothing. A lanyard can be stored in any bag, rucksack or even in a quiver and should become a faithful companion.

We at archery-shop.co.uk recommend using a lanyard for your bow so that you can enjoy it for a long time. If the limbs are warped due to incorrect tensioning, the only solution is to buy a new one. The Recurve & Longbow 1 tensioning string from elToro could have prevented this.
